I got a HEI a few years back. It died. I suspect it is the ignition module. The guys at the parts store don’t know how to look it up without a part number or vehicle type. Anyone know what he uses as a basis for this or a part number? I just left him a voice mail and email but jeep is dead so fastest answer I can get will help.

ANd Ralph, you were right. again.

It's got the 4-pin module correct?

Standard part number LX301
AC Delco D1906

Have them look it up for a 74 Impala 5.7L

Is yours a Mallory brand? Just curious...

The spare I bought with Ralph last November was at an Autozone near his place. There were bunches of brands to chose from with prices to match. I am pretty sure what I got was a Borg Warner part but will check when I get home.

what motor are you running as I have a new ecm and a new unused dura spark pick-up if you need em cheap
weather pac connectors on the pick-up \\
I went HEI and never installed the pick-up
The ecm is about three months old, I also have a good used one
20.00 for all plus the trip

If you want a good HEI go to ebay search for 360 or 258 HEI
only buy the skip white dist as all of the others are Chinese junk
You can get a good one for about 56.00

thanks! You were correct. I got an email from Zack (Z&M) and he said 1979 chevy truck.

Autozone part number DR100. Worked like a charm. Only $21.99. I am going to buy an extra tomorrow and toss it in the 'off road' tool box.

Don't forget the heatsink grease! Without it, you'll be installing your spare module really soon!

It was included with the part. Reminds me of when I used to put PC's together and had to add the stuff on the CPU's....
