How I turned a truckload of parts into a watermelon,1979TSM , gas money and a J20. ..

I had a rear seat for a Chero I no longer needed.
Some front disc brake rotors.
A waggy air foil wing thing a ma jig.
A rear step bumper that was rusted and slightly warped.
And a Jeeper in need of a haul.

$210 in fuel and close to 24 hours straight on the road, 3 States, and 3 new face to face meetings and I'm finally back home.
Met some new guys today and I must say still never disappointed with a Jeeper from here.
HighSchoolDream now has a rear seat for a third row set up. Some like new rotors for spares and a wing thngy. I managed a watermelon to my surprise and some fuel $. I had to hide the melon from Mars later in the night.
Snoeman has I believe sold me his J20 and got to see how silly my Co-pilot,Annie, is with a pan of water on a hot day.
WHSII now has a new bumper to play with along with his dismantled step side. I got a TSM to add to my collection.
And last but not least Mars now has his Cherokee back at his place after he rudely woke me up from my 5 minute nap in a truck stop at 11pm, needing it hauled. .
It's 5:45 am and I'm going to bed for a while before Jim Webb calls me wanting his parts. Annie is already zonked out.
Thanks to all involved and I hope to see everyone again I've had a great day doing what I miss so badly. Just running the countryside.

Talking Hope you enjoy the watermelon!

Hey Hoot!

This is Chris. I finally decided to make my own account and stop using my wife's (highschooldream).

It was a real pleasure meeting you yesterday! I do wonder if the McDonald's is still rationing their ice...lol.

Thank you so much for the parts! As soon as I can get my hands on the hardware to attach the rear spoiler it is going on! (what did you call the pieces that I needed?)

Glad to hear you made it home safe and thanks again!

Jesus blessings!
Chris

BJsOffroad used to carry them although I can't find them there now.

I believe they are called wellnuts. It is a rubber coated threaded sleeve that slips into the hole and when you insert the screw and tighten it down the well nut compresses under the part and seals out the water.
I have some here somewhere. No telling when I'll find them again. I hear they can be had at some of the better stocked hardware stores. Kind of a low use item.
Or call BJ's and ask them. Don't forget to register with them for a discount through this site as well. Try not to spend the grocery money on all the goodies they sell for our Jeeps.

I actually only took pics of a race car being hauled down the highway.
I can shoot some of the watermelon for you.
I just took a couple of Annie for you. She was sleeping and now she is grumpy cause the flash and camera sound woke her up. Poor thing is absolutely exhausted from the trip still. I'll try to get them online tonight after work.
