"Don't try this at home."

OMG The guard on that saw should cover more of the blade!
It wouldn't take much of a trip/slip and they'll call ya stumpy.
Definitely pre OSHA design!

Reminds me of a UNIMOG. I wonder why the 'mog was sucsessful in Europe but the FC never went anywhere here.

My guess is that guard is not to protect the operator but deflect the saw dust and wood chips from the cutting operation.
Most definitely pre OSHA design!

I love those FC's when they are in working clothes. Sweet tow truck there.

I thought someone on here had or has one as a fire truck. Like to see that again.

I should spend some time on my FC.... (sigh)

I spent many, many hours on one of those saw-rigs that had no blade guard a-tall. I can still count all ten fingers and toes. More from good luck than good wit. After a particularly close call involving a cracked pillow block on the blade end of the main shaft I made the smartest move I ever made with that setup; I took out my knife and cut through the leather belt, and vowed I'd never use that darn thing again.

Rear PTO

Thank U for the pics & video.

I've seen couple Willys CJ's with the buzz saw, one at PA Jeeps few weeks ago... but never video of it in action.

I'm still trying to decide what to run on my Gladiator's rear PTO.
Thinking about bracing the bed frame & running Monroe lift with a light duty brushhog.
