It NEVER ends Pt. II

OK, I've been driving the Montero while I try to sell it. Then the a/c compressor started squealing and now stopped. Got my waggy back sun and I started to disassemble the a/c. Took the service valves to work and I think they are good now. Only good thing to happen in the 89* shop. Found a used condenser w/lines attached online and a good price for a new reciever/dryer and hoped to order both tonight. So I get off work and go out to the Montero. Barely turns over but does start and an idle that goes from almost dying to 1200 rpm, constantly up and down. Put into gear and drives fine until stopped, so no a/c. Decide to park in back and drive the waggy tomorrow. Round the corner and find approx. 25 ft. long, 8 inch thick branch laying across the side and roof of the waggy. Can see the dents where the branch bounced around . Just got the body straight less than a year ago and now this! Took 2 of us to get the branch off of it. And found that the gas cap has been stolen AGAIN! But luckily the windows and sunroof glass didn't break. I think I'll stay in bed tomorrow.

This morning before I left for work I checked on the waggy. In the daylight and after cleaning off all the leaves and small branches I could see that the dents weren't that bad. The rain gutter and trim are smashed in in 2 places but the door clears and will open. Started it up and it idled for a minute then died. Cranked but no start. I guess that was all the gas the thief left me.The wife took it better than me but probably because she hasn't been able to drive it since it got hot here. I promised her that SOMEDAY I will have the a/c fixed get the leaf springs installed and do a good paint job for her. She deserves it after all her surgeries and disability. She loves the waggy.I guess the Jeep gods, although not smiling down upon me, gave me a break this time. Thanks for letting me rant people.

I feel your pain, after a long hot afternoon of trying to fix my AC (with help from one of our members here; swampedge, thanks again) I go out to move the waggy today only to find out the coil had somehow killed itself after only 2 months, and during the process of trying to fix the no spark problem, I notice a huge puddle of antifreeze under her oh well, gave me something to do on my day off today

I want to apologize to everyone for my ranting on. Times have been hard lately with the lower income, death in the family, got to see 2 of my granddaughters and they left back to N.Y. just as we were bonding and now all this happening. But it is no excuse. The jeep will start with some gas, the damage wasn't as bad as it originally looked, I can buy another gas cap, and if I can't sell the Montero, which is likely since I can't figure it out, the a/c for the waggy will have to wait. There is still a lot to do anyway. You guys are a great source of info. and with your help I'll "git er done!".

We've all done it! That is what makes this site so good you can get on and whine and we all understand. I hear you on the kids I get to see my Great nieces maybe once a year for a week. They are just starting to accept me then the week ends.

JEEPER54 ... sorry to hear about the damage and the freakin' thief, he'll get his for sure!

SNOWBIRD_HUNTER ... yer far out west from where I was but it woulda been hella fun to have you on the far east side when season was goin' on ... Apache Junction doubles and gets close to triple population when the snow falls and the stupid gate gets left open as usual. I stopped running errands and grocery shopping during the day cuz it was bumper to bumper blue hairs with shopping carts. Aint nuthin' like Geritol and Bengay fumes.

NEWTOJEEPS ... Where in S.CA are ya?
