Oh god, the roadtrip from hell bringin my Cherokee home after I bought it...I snapped that pic doin 80 in 2 foot snow ruts on I-94 which WAS a 4 lane highway before we left...gotta love Quadra-Trac
Oh and I HATE the late model dash...so square...I like to UFO style spedometer and school bus sized steering wheel of the early models

Hey Draglink Where did they move the light house to? I went out the in the early 80's to put roofs on all the surrounding buildings for the Navy.

They moved the lighthouse a little over half a mile inland. If you didnt know it was moved you prob wouldnt even notice. The Nags Head area has grown like crazy the past decade or so, but Buxton and Hatteras havent changed a whole lot. There are more cottages, a Food Lion in Avon....still my favorite vacation spot!

For some reason that strikes me as odd since the lighthouse marks the coast line......
