I truly despise transmissions.....

Just walked in the door and out to the shop. Yup. Puddle on the floor in my favorite crimson color.

Looks like I'm about to get greasy.

And yes, I know many of ya'all warned me about the peril's of another slushbox.

Sometimes I'm a horrible listener....

i actually was so ticked that i put the jeep up for sale. if i get it running before someone wants it, i'll keep it. but money talks, ya know?

See, the real problem here is you keep fixing them right, then selling them.

I have to check my tranny fluid

Nevermind, it's still full

But in all honesty, I hope things work out for you.

Mine always leaves a nice sized puddle when I don't drive it for a while. My guess is the fluid drains out of the converter fills the sump then leaks out of the dipstick seal. But in all reality it's probably just pissed that I'm not paying attention to it.

Uh, no.

I found it. Trans pan needs to be replaced. Corner of it got crimped and bent at one point. It's tricklin out there/hitting the driveshaft and down to the concrete. Don't have much of a gasket left either.

Guess it didn't do it before because it had so much crud built up around it. But with all the scrapin of goo, crud, slime and dirt dauber's I've busted loose, I reckon that opened it up.

Mine is still puking fluid through the dipstick... new O-ring, lots of silicone... I've gotten it to change from pouring to trickling to dripping... I can handle dripping...

Is it possible to change from the O-ring dipsticks to the grommet dipsticks? I don't mind buying one of the flexible aftermarket dipsticks and screwing it to the firewall instead of the back of the engine.

Sorry for the little bit of hijack, Janie...

Well, I guess I'm in the minority. I like my 727 because it is very robust and doesn't need any special fluid or anything. It does have a locking torque converter, but I don't think there's a huge difference in performance. It's one of the only things that doesn't leak.
