New carb update
Got my new carb yesterday. The place I bought it from online says it's ready to run out of the box. Wow, they were right! All of my choke, idle and power issues are gone. The carb was identical to my stock carb and I didn't have to adjust idle mixture, fast idle, choke or curb idle. It was all dead on out of the box! The only thing I had to adjust was the base idle on the anti-diesel solenoid. I definitely recommend these guys. I got a brand new 2150 for $188 and they even pay for the core to be shipped back.

Update
Pretty much finished the CS144 upgrade. Went in pretty easy except for getting the pulley off, what a pain!
I also found a 91 waggy in great shape at the local yard so I pulled the overhead console and headliner. Took a while to figure out the electrical and translate to an 86 wiring harness. Also the headliner is a little off but overall I think it looks good.

Yes and I even purchased the longer gates belts (PN 7516) per one of the CS144 install threads, but found that they were way too long so I went back to the shorter (PN 15508, not sure which brand) belts I already had and they worked perfectly! The only thing I had to do was grind out a bit of the slot because the tension bolt was bigger than the stock alt.

Scott, dont make it sound TOO easy. might just have this lil mod to my christmas list. its funny, i want the cs144, relays for the headlights, and the hella's, all so i can see better at night. seems like there should be an easier way to get good volts to the bulbs.

im looking at waggys in a different light after seeing this super chief, very nice indeed, the question remains, how were the rear flares grafted in, from a pickup bed? or front fenders?

To make a long story short, I bought it that way. The previous owner said the front end was from a Jtruck and the rears was custom. It was done by a company out in California when the Jeep was new. Here is the original thread from when I bought it, there are also pics of the fenders.

I'm seeing some really nice mods you've done and have a feeling some will be incorporated into my build. You've been doing some really good work my friend! Really diggin' the upper console too. SUBSCRIBED to see where you keep going with this.

Thanks for the kind words. I really never ends
I have to say I really love having a temp sensor. Next up is a stereo, the stock one took a poop. I am looking a mid-range unit with bluetooth and Ipod connection. Gotta have some tunes when wheeling!
After that:
Rear seat shoulder seat belt upgrade
Cliffhanger bumper
Tires
TBI
SOA
Axle upgrade (HP D44) with 4.10 gears and lockers

I saw the other thread but could not really discern how the rear was done other than a reference to cutting the door and welding flares (flares from what?) on there.
I realize you didn't do the work but maybe you knew how it was done?
I thought maybe I was missing where this was specifically discussed?
So are the flares from a J-truck or from front fenders and cut to fit or...?
It looks so completely awesome - I don't know why this wasn't a factory offering or even the "default" setup.
You're a lucky guy to have stumbled across that truck.

Thank you for the link. Just got off the phone with them. If I can not get mine adjusted right. I may just go this route, Beale.

Update
1) I am pretty sure I got my electrical/voltage issues squared away. Turns out my air intake hose was shorting out on my battery side post. How do I know? It actually started to denigrate the plastic/vinyl material of the hose....now I get a solid 13.9v all the time!
2) Another issue I was having was slight overheating. Fix: new radiator cap....doh! I can see now what having pressure in the radiator can do. My jeep runs pretty cool now, probably too cool.
3) And finally I pulled the trigger and bought a stereo for the waggy. I got tired of listening to tire hum and body rattling, lol. Ill try to post a pic this week. Here is the unit I got. I didn't have to modify the dash or anything. So far its a pretty good deck for the price.
http://www.crutchfield.com/s_105KDA8...5.html?tp=5684
Next up:
1) I would like to replace my window wipes, they are pretty rotted out all the way around.
2) I would like to get my rear window defroster working. I have never work on one so I have no clue where the issue is. The switch light in the dash comes on when I hit the button so I assume it something in the tailgate.
3) Rear seat shoulder belt upgrade. This is supposedly and easy upgrade. I have the belts I just need to find someone that will sell small pieces of angle iron and not large sticks of it...

Frontside USB is nice..it's handy popping 8gb+ of music on a thumbdrive. Oh oh..it's got a purple display..you know who will be eying that in Ouray..
you can get small pieces of angle iron at True Value, and perhaps Home Depot. TV for sure.

Is there a write up on doing the rear flares? Im in the process of doing rear flares to my new waggy to help clear my 37 inch boggers and help some of the mud flinging and pull overs.

The flares were done when the Jeep was new. It was like that when I bought it so I am not sure how it was done.
See this thread for more detailed pics of the fenders.
