Paint needs to be done by July...
So following up my fixit ticket for my police painted wag, I gotta think of a new paint job. And whether or not to do woodgrain.
I like the old school teal color of classic cars.
But then again I love the red wag with woodgrain on grandwagoneers.com
(plus it'd be a good homage to my wags firefighting past)
decisions...decisions...

The Colorado Red Grand Wagoneer with tan interior is a beauty! I've only seen maybe 2 in person. It is absolutely my second favorite color combo. It really is quite stunning:
Where's the "drool" smiley?? Darn.

I was thinking about using a late 80s Ford bronco color scheme for my GWag. The white main coat, dark blue squares, and light and lighter blue pin stripes.
But the choice is yours.

You got a fix it ticket for that? I've owned 2 old police cars that aside from the emblems being gone looked EXACTLY like current police cars on the road and I never got hassled about the paint, and only once about the cage in the back of the first one, which I took out after that.

Ya I got a ticket and ya I bet I could fight it. But I'm going to be doing bodywork anyways, which will mean I'll have to paint it anyways. And I don't want to paint it b&w again and draw attention to myself. I plan on putting the number back on the roof and little ones on the side by the gw symbol tho for rememberance

Just to be a little different I always thought the late 70's J-truck two tone would look good on a wag.

Yes I already got in trouble for starting a thread about it which ended up in people venting not so appropriate gripes about police but we're not going there.
Fact is its a law that is very open to interpretation by an officer, and I just passed an officer that felt like enforcing it. So now I gotta change it.
My old old threads talk about its back story, but quick synopsis...
1988-1996 Stationed in Oregon at a Fire Department (was all red then)
1996-early 2000s switched to oregon PD
early 2000s-2009 owned by family (got from police auction)
mid 2009-now MINE

Seriously. I love the black and white paint. Wish I could keep it tho but it seems like too much of a hassle

Screw it..just have it shot all black. It has a good enough body to look good that way.

I know I was tempted by that, there are a few rust spots I want to take care of tho and its gonna be more of a DD than offroad rig so I want it to look nice
