Mounting pie plates

Ok so I have almost everything I need to finish my Rhino grill swap. I've already got the grill mounted up. Still need to figure out the headlight rings but I have some sheet metal I can make some brackets out of(metal from cutting out the hole for the hood release).

My next problem is how do I get the pie plates mounted up. If I set them up for the ribbing on the plates to go horizontal or vertical there is not a place for two screws on both sides.

Do I just need to weld in some metal to make it work? If needed I'll get some pictures up when I get home to show what I am talking about.

Yes, IIRC that's how they did it on the Budget Beater project on Trucks. So, you can either weld on some tabs to have the ribs vertical/horizontal, or you can mount them slanted. Your choice.

Cool I figured as much. Since my pie plates aren't in that great of shape I might just put some lights in them, I've seen a couple pics with them and they look pretty sweet.

Don't know if originality matters to ya but from the factory the fake vents were mounted verticle.
