Topper for a J10 fits
Well, the Soft Topper (canvas with bows, nice unit) unit that my buyer for my J10 had shipped arrived yesterday. I couldn;t help myself to see if it fit, and my daughter and I put it on in less than an hour today. Fits great.
Pics, yes I took some, but you all are gonna have to wait.
BTW, this is for a '84 J10 short bed. Yeah, you read that right.

Now the way this fits, and since it's for more than one truck, and a J10 wasn't in the maker's data, tonneau covers shoudl be out there that fit also. Just an FYI.
If, or when i get another J10, I will be getting one of these for it.

Looks really nice! Did you have to send them the measurements of the bed of order it for a similar size truck? I really like it, i think i want one. How much does it weight? It looks a lot lighter than my camper shell.
Edit: Ok, I missed the very last line in your original post. My bad.

M84 SofTopper
Hi,
The topper is for a Ford Ranger Long Bed. The code at SofTopper is M84.
http://www.softopper.com/Default.aspx
Long&Low provided all the dimensions and Bob at SofTopper matched up M84.

I could tell it was for a Ranger just by looking at it. It fits just like the Ranger hard shell caps.
Some one needs to reproduce the old OEM WhitCo canvas toppers.

Have you driven on the highway yet? Does it flap around or feel like it's going to rip off? Looks good!

Nope it doesn't flap. But it's still new, not really stretched out yet.
There are four tension straps at each corner. You can roll up all the sides and so the top/roof part is only up.

Nice....that does look good. Like Sian09 mentioned, my only worry would be how it holds up on the highway. As soft tops go, it looks pretty substantial.

Nice! What holds the back window flap down? Do you have to put snaps on or something?
Any idea if they have a longer version that would fit an 8' bed? How much did it cost?
Thanks,
Dean

seventynine,
If you follow the link above there are some video clips showing the top being installed and removed from a typical truck.
I sent the measurements to Bob at SofTopper and he got back to me in above a day with a match to the dimensions. His e-mail address is under the Contact section of their web site.

The front and rear flaps are held down by 2" velcro. I'm gonna let the new buyer stick that on.
It does have a couple extra snaps for spares in case you booger one up.
