I have been bitten by the FSJ bug...

I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself. I have been lurking here for the last 2 months trying to absorb as much of the knowledge on this forum. My lovely wife told me to go out and buy a "toy" for my last birthday. I have always has a passing interest in Wagoneers and decided to look further into them. I stumbled on this forum by accident and almost immediately knew I had to have one. Thanks to everyone's combined knowledge I made a purchase last weekend and can hardly stop thinking about all the ways I can make improve it to suit my needs. Here are a couple of shots.

1979 with 69K miles. Needs some interior work... Needs some exterior work... Needs brake, engine, steering, exhaust, and AC fixed... Hey but it has an new headliner(but missing the lamp lenses - bummer)! Overall I guess I have some work ahead of me. But I am looking forward to the frustration .

Welcome! And nice Waggy . My first FSJ was a '79 Wagoneer...I miss that truck.

Your Wag looks pretty solid. I'm guessing thats a re-paint. Post a thread up in the wanted section for the light lenses...they should be pretty easy to find...I've seen some NOS ones on Ebay lately.

It will say 401 on the block. Really!

It's behind the motor mount. Sort of hidden. Use a flashlight.

On both sides of the engine block, on the block, under the motor mounts it should say 360 or 401. I do believe it is possible that it be blank as well. If that is the case (blank) then I do believe I am correct in telling you it could be a 360 or a 401 and the engine was a replacement engine from the factory...

IF ANYONE KNOWS THIS TO BE UNTRUE PLEASE CHIME IN...
