Soft Topper
The guy that is buying my J10 contacted this place called Softopper. Apparently, they have a topper (model M84) that will fit short bed J10's.....
I thought this may be of interest to some folks here.

These are the dimensions I gave him,
Outer: 86" long x 62.5" wide
Inner: 83' long x 57" wide
and this is their email replay:
It looks like our M 84 model should fit just fine.
It's meant for an inside length of 84 inches so 83 is no problem at all..and the 57 wide should be just fine.
The height of the top from the trucks side rails is about 20 inches so should be close to the roof line of the cab. Measure the height of your cab to be sure though....but worst case it will just be a little lower than the cab.
You can order the M 84 online ( order it as though you were ordering a Ford Ranger longbed ) or call us at 1-800-810-7227 to order.

I dunno, their site doesn't give their dimensions, I'm just going off of what their response was. If I still had a JTruck , I'd call and ask, but all I got left are two CJ5's in bits and pieces.

I contacted these guys a while back about the same thing and the guy thought they had something that would be close to working for an 8' bed J Truck too.
The guy said it would be ideal to have someone come by their factory to test fit one. They are in Boulder, CO. Is there anyone on here with a Jtruck in that general area?
Here is their actual web site:
