So long as both are full floaters yes. Although personally would use the DRW 14FF so that the width will match the front D60. Unless you are converting the D60 over, which requires all new hubs etc.

yeah they are bothe full floaters. I wanted to use the DRW 14 bolt originally, but I'd have to move the sping mount under the frame. If I did it as is the springs would be mouted in the middle of the drums.

sounds like your axles came from a cab and chassis truck, not a dually pickup. check the WMS of the rear. if its 63.5" then its a C&C. 72" its from a dually pickup.

if you have a C&C axle, you dont neccessarily have to swap the gears,if you are planning to run disc brakes.

the SRW and C&C axles use the same shafts, and the same width housing,so you can ditch the big old drums and dually hubs and just use your SRW hubs onthe dually housing with the 4.56s. this is essentially exactly the same thing as using the SRW housing. you will of course have to move the perches, but youll have to do that with the SRW axle as well, unless you want to try and force the springs outward over 1/4" on each side

the only drawback is that the backing plate flange is in a different spot on the dually C&C housing,so you wont be able to use a "bolt on"brake kit for SRW axles without some modification. you can make spacers to make it work,or you can use the $7 A&A mfg weld on brackets.

if youre intending to use the SRW axle with the drums, then it will require re-setting up the axle. swap the pinion housing and whatever shims are with it as a starting point. the backlash and preload are set with the spinny things that spin up to the bearing races on the carrier. a much, much better setup than dana axles use,IMO. now that you brought it up, it was a cab and chassis truck, got it for 50 bucks, everything minus the engine.

thanks for the info. more questions though. i'm on a tight budget, but long time frame. where do i get the disc? is it a pre-made kit, or can i piece it together wit h junkyard parts? no matter what 14 bolt i use, i'm going to have to swap hubs on the 60 right?

You need hubs off a single wheel Dana 60, I believe the rotors off the dually wheel hub will fit.
Or you could run Hummer wheels on the dually hub D60, and space the rear to match.

that is correct mr jeepman. the rotor is the same on dually and single wheel 60s,its the hub that is different.

wow,a dually,4wd cab and chassis not common, hate to ask,but youre sure the front is a 60?

and you got the whole thing for $50? cant beat that with a stick.

to answer your question, yes, youre stuck with swapping the hubs for single wheel hubs if you want to run standard offset wheels. that is unless you want to be really, really wide

the hummer rims are a good option, cept the rear is too skinny. id consider using the SRW hubs to get yourself an extra couple inches per side, and you still made need to space the hummer rim out,to get it close to the track width of the front.

yup, its a 60. I bought it from a kid I work with that didnt realize how much the drivetrain could be worth. and you can bet I didnt tell him until the title was in my hand. ok, where do I get hummer rims? I always liked the way they looked, so that would be really cool, are they real HMMV rims, or H2?

I'm going to throw some 36x12.5's wrangler MT on the axles this weekend. one to move them around easier, and to get some idea of how big these beasties are.

Whats the best steering solution? Crossover?

Thanks for all the help, this board never fails.

You need to make a decision on which Hummer H1 rims you want. 8 bolt or 12 bolt. 8 bolt rims are super cheap, you can get them here for $50 each including mag beadlock and good 36" Goodyear military OZ's. Problem is that the 8 bolt wheels crack bad on the bolt on tire retainer. Not a big issue if you do not get into heavy rock crawling but still something to worry about. They are so cheap you can by a lot of extras though for spares. The 12 bolt rims alone are pricey, the cheapest I have ever found is $100 each just for the bare rims. I have only found 3 sets and paid $500 for each set, and that is without the 15 mm retainer nuts, spacers, or special valve stems which runs the price up fast. The 12 bolt rims are hard to find.
