Tire Size

Can I run 31 x 10.5 tires with a stock rim on my 87 Grand Waggy or will they rub? Everything is stock with no lift.

I was running some Chinese built 31's on the stock wheels and they didn't rub to bad, only when the wheels were at full lock and the suspension was flexed. I switched to 31" Mtr Kevlars on 15x8 wheels and they rub like crazy.

What backspacing is on the new wheels?

Where does it rub? Those MTR's have a meaty tread that continues down the sidewall. That and the 8" rim makes the setup considerably wider than the setup you had on there before.

I see a lift in your future...don't ya hate it when you HAVE to put a lift on?...haha

31's rubbed on my stock wheels when I had no lift.

Backspacing is 3.75" I believe. Probably going to put BJ's 4 inch kit on it later this year.
