i think i saw that rig for sale on another site, maybe ebay i don't remember, but i do remember having a good laugh at the price. I wish him all the best luck getting anywhere near that number, he apparently needs the money pretty bad if he is trying to get every penny back that he invested in it.

I think that guy is out of his mind. I can't even sell my '94 Chevy Pickup for $1500 so he will have that Wagon for a while.

Check these high priced Wagons out. http://www.wagonmaster.com/complete.htm

Not that I would ever pay that for a Wagoneer (or vehicle of any kind baring major improvment in my standard of living) but if there was one I would shell out that kind of dough for that might be it. If you assume that all the components are brand new or proffesionally rebuilt you are basically getting a brand new vehicle... The closest comparision for something of that capability would be a dodge power wagoner (the new one) or a Rubicon and both those are pushing 40K Granted this one is still USED (even if its only lightly used) so I think $15K would be a bit more reasonable... Now if it had a 6bt and still had working AC/cruise and all that then I might be able to see $20K or so especially if it was a built 6bt

I'm sure that people who are into old cars know that they will never get back what they put in labor unless they do it themselves.

It's amazing. It would take me like 5 minutes or maybe 10 and see what other Grand Wagoneers or similar FSJs are going for. I'm pretty sure that an average customer like me and pretty every one on IFSJA would do a little research and figure out the fair price. I'm sure that even FSJ owners who don't know about this site would not pay anywhere close to that asking price. Wow, talk about crazy price tag!!

Probably some n00b dealer who fell for a snazzy look, list of goodies and a fast talking seller.

The 4 liter thing precludes any serious towing....not that this rig would be suitable in the first place.

What's that term? "Pipe Dream"? I think the dealer has been smoking too much of that wacky tabaccy.

At least at wagonmaster you're getting pretty much a New rig. That GW is freakin sweet, but he must be high if he thinks he's gettin 27 grand for it!

I disagree on the 'brand new vehicle' tag. Only a 'brand new vehicle' really can lay claim to that title. A repaint, crate engine/tranny, rebuilt axles, etc., on say a 1985 Grand Wagoneer, you still have a 25 year old vehicle which is based on the technology of the day.

I redid a 1995 Wrangler. Went from a oily noisy low powered 2.5L to an almost new '97 4.0L engine and 5-spd. I subsequently put in a 3-speed otto, cause I was lazy to shift. Then, I swapped in a set of waggy axles, new bearings all around, new Detroits front and rear, new 4.56 gears as well. It was a 'brand new vehicle' in my eyes back then, but, after a few minutes, it was still a 1995 Jeep Wrangler. Not worth anything near what it was brand new. 5 years later, nice to have the power of the 4.0L, and easy shifting otto, but, it's probably worth 5000. yo.

Man I had never seen such an unbelievable price on used (no matter how reconditionned they are) 25 year old vehicles that could be had for 10 times less.

I am in the wrong business.

Thats comparing apples to oranges, if you put the money that was put into that stroker into a V8 you would get more HP and torque. Not bashing the stroker, just saying.
