Offy intake for a 258

I'm putting together the pieces to put an Offenhauser intake on my 258. I have the intake (part number 5999) the carb (holley truck avenger 470) and a whole lot of questions. I've done a search and can't find a thread where anyone has done this already, it seems like someone would have tried that intake already. The big question is the linkage, on the Offy intake the carb is turned side ways. I can't find a picture anywhere of one of these installed and in particular the throttle cable bracket. Fuel lines, return spring and air cleaner seem to be straight forward but the linkage is puzzling me. Any help in the form of picures or part numbers would be greatly appreciated.

There used to be a guy on ebay from Colorado who had kits to put the MC2100 (Ford Mustang or Jeep) carburetor on 258s, and one of the options was the Mustang linkage. So if you are ok with hooking up cable linkage, maybe that's what the 470 requires too.

If so, a new throttle cable that's longer is required. The standard 258 linkage is a throttle cable through the firewall, but it is attached to the rods and other linkage we all know as common to Jeep 258s.

Thanks Addicted but that's not the animal I'm working with. The manifold and carb are four barrel. The big problem is that the carb sits sideways on the pad. I'm going to call Offenhauser Monday and climb on top of them till someone gets up the nerve to tell me how I'm supposed to hook this up. The manifold didn't come with any instructions and I didn't know about the sideways thing untill I went to mock it up in the living room.

Look @ the pic, throttle cable bracket bolts to carb stud.
You cut the cable to length...

Will work on a 4bbl set-up, doesn't matter what direction it's mounted.

Not if your four barrel's throttle quadrant is pointed straight at your valve cover. I've got about 2" from the stud that I would use for that to the valve cover, no where near enough room for the cable to attach and sweep.

Turn the carburetor around the other way...
Sounds like you have it backwards to where it is supposed to go.

It should be pulled away from the valve cover not towards it.

Kind of what I'm thinking, that would mean running the fuel line around the world and custom throttle cable and bracketry. I'm not scarred of making my own brackets, I do that quite often, I'm worried that the cable will wind up rubbing against the brake booster.

Not really....258 fuel line comes from the passenger side already.
Wouldn't have to go anywhere near the throttle

If I turn the carb that way the fuel inlet on a holley truck avenger will be closest to the firewall and pointing towards the drivers fender.
