no info for my 1990 jeep grand wagoneer
does anybody know where i can get catalogs pamplets or other related info regarding my full size jeep? i have a 1990 JGW 360 with 222 new process and an automatic tran.
i google and come up with plenty of stuff for the toy jeeps (i.e wrangler and such) but nothing for me. i am looking for info on fuel injection systems not even edelbrock has the right set up. they have anything for amc chevy ford but not dodge or even jeep for that matter.
stuff i am interested in are:
tbi vs efi
manual hubs
carbuerator info
lifting/ suspension parts
heating/cooling info/parts
does anybody have any web address i would be deeply grateful
thanks

Look in the tech archives on this site. I use google to search the site, i.e. "tfi ifsja.org".
1. Lots of tbi info on binderplanet.com for GM tbi swap, Edelbrock, Holley, Howell all make kits for AMC engines.
2. Not sure but manual hubs with np229 is a no go due to viscous coupler
3. Motorcraft 2bbl
4. BJs offroad has good lift kits, though most companies make them too
5. Heaters suck on these, mine has a 185 t-stat runs cool, BJs offroad has aluminum radiator, supposedly Taurus electric fans fit ok
6. Best info is on this site, bjsoffroad.com
Good luck, prepare to be broke.

I hope you are not thing your 360 was made by Dodge. If its stock its not made by Dodge.
And it is more than likely a 229 TC instead of a 222TC

great info here, real sense of support. You can make your jeep new again here.
BJs Offroad is a great source, they like these jeeps and they care enough to do the right thing.
I bought a jeep dealer brochure on ebay last month, it was for 1975 but neat to see and own.

TBI *IS* EFI.
Throttle Body Injection is a form of Electronic Fuel Injection.
Electronic Fuel Injection can be TBI or MPFI (Multi-Port Fuel Injection).
See my sig link for information on how to install a GM TBI on an AMC 360 (which your truck came with from the factory.). I also talk about your options from full turnkey kits to complete DIY systems.
Most likely you have an NP 229 transfer case. A good t-case, IMHO. Shift on the fly and a nice low range, too!
Oh, and let me be the first to say:

There are a few places that talk FSJ Jeep's BJ's off road and ZM Jeeps.
What you have is
Engine AMC/Jeep 360 CID (Edlebrock makes a EFI set up)
Tranny AMC/Jeep Pattern Chysler 727 three speed
Transfercase Jeep NP229
These were not built in larg numbers (vs. Ford/Chev ..) so aftermarket support is/was limited.
They do share many parts with other rigs though.
Manual hubs for example are the same as those used by GM truck for many years (read the posts/warnings about using manual hubs with a 229, do a search)
The first step you need to do is learn and understand what you have, as auto store parts books are also very poor for FSJ's, so getting the correct parts can be a challange at times.

This.
Manual hubs are possible with an NP229 transfer case, will save you wear and tear on the front axle and may just save about a half to three-quarters MPG. The trick is to NEVER engage 4WD with the hubs unlocked. To do so is almost instant death for the viscous coupling.
No personal experience here, knock on fake woodgrain. Someone on this list fabricated a warning block for his 4WD switch. Pretty good idea.

update!!!!!
so many replies i am greatful. i checked out all those websites except ebay ( if i go there i am defiantly going to buy something) but went to bjs(thank you much) and found the set up i was looking for an all in one fan/ shroud for my four core radiator. gonna have to wait until tax time to buy that sucker. right now i belive i have a thermostat that is too low (in the 120 range) so i will fix that when the weather gets nice. right now i am enjoying getting into it after five minutes and the engine has warmed up enough so i can kick the heater on. As for the the new process transfer i am double checking the # but for some reason the #222 stick out in my mind ( i have to crawl under the beast in snow so be patient. but summer is coming so i have to do something about the vapor lock- dont want to experiance that again in 108 degree day. so a temp fix (a electric inline fuel pump- a shucks special- wired via ignition switch) if that dont fix it then i go all out and buy the stuff on bj's AND go TBI.... baby steps am i heading in the right direction???

Welcome! This is the best forum for full-size Jeeps, hands down. This group is really nice and they won't mock you like other forums if you have a noob question.
It sounds like you are going in the right direction but, of course, knowledge is power.
TBI or any kind of fuel injection is one of the best things you can do on one of these Jeeps, also for cold starting and cold running, an HEI distributor (basically a GM distributor on an custom made AMC housing) is a great upgrade as well.
Also, if you register on our website www.bjsoffroad.com and email me, we will set your account up for the IFSJA discount which is 15% off on most items, excluding lift kits, sale items and other items that we have to remain competitive on like Edelbrock but there is at least a little bit of a discount on those items just not 15%.
One of the best things you can buy early is a service manual, these are HUGE and cover everything, it is what a Jeep dealership would have used back in the day to fix your Jeep:

Thanks!

hey you gear heads!
yep ya'all are right it is a 229 not a 222. (makes me feel kinda foolish.. but oh well) and as i read it seems to me that if i put lock in hubs its just for show and all it takes is just one time to forget about leaving them locked/unlocked to toast my gears, even with a reminder taped to the dash...

Hey, I am sure your rig has rear wiper. A very important feature on a top of line Jeep.
Just wondering....

I agree with sticking with the stock drive flanges in front instead of installing manual locking hubs.
I don't think you're losing a lot of mileage in the stock configuration and IMHO the risk of ruining your transfer case is not worth the "possible" savings.
If you are trying to save on gas money, buy an XJ or a Liberty.

I was joking about the rear wiper thing, but as you learn, you will be surprised at what people will pay for a good rear wiper motor if you had one.
