Progress pics.
Dear all,
I just wanted to let you know what I've been doing to my waggy (one of them anyway).
This is how it started, about 18 months ago. Got it for 1500 pesos (about 115 USD). The original intention was to use it as parts donnor. Drove it home, but neded a new engine, suspension, etc.
Decided to fix it up. Rebuilt engine, 6 inches lift, 4.56 gears, lockrites and 35" tires later:
And today.... XJ fender flares (had to be extended a bit using fiberglass), bob job, half doors.
Still needs some work before I send it to get a paint job. It has been sitting there for about 2 months now because I've been working like crazy all this time. Too much work, that's a good thing is it not??? That way, you can buy more FSJ parts .

Nope!!!! Stock axles. I have 12.5 X 35 tires, so front tires were rubbing at full turn and rear tires were about 1/8" from the springs. So I installed 1" bolt on spacers in all 4 wheels. It was cheaper than buying new wheels with different backspacing .

I normally wheel locally. Nuevo Laredo is right in the border with Laredo Tx. about 170 Km from Monterrey.
If you're going to Monterrey, plan on using Nuevo Laredo as your point of entry. We can do some wheeling around town, and I can set up a carne asada and have some tequila ready .
