Replacement Seat Belts - Now with Pics!

Hello all.
After putting the finishing touches on Herc for a customer, he ask me about a thrid row seat and some shoulder harnesses for the second and third row. He also wanted to know if we could do some kind of over the shoulder seat belt for the person in the center.
Some research revealed that there is a company that makes seat belts that look almost exactly like FSJ seat belts. The come in a ton of different colors and a couple of styles. The company has been making seat belts forever and still makes them for the OEMs.
I was able to get Shoulder and Lap belts with the buckle in a rigid mount (plastic surround, like the original) for the front driver's side and pass side; shoulder and lap belts with a loose mount for the second row outside left and right, and shoulder and lap belts with a loose mount with an 8" door post drop for the 3rd row of seats (so it can be mounted up by the ceiling, but the shoulder pivot will still be in the right place). These turned out to be $120 a piece for whatever color I wanted.
I also found an over the shoulder mount for the person in the center of the rear bench(es). It has one strap up from the floor over the seat, then Y's around the neck and attaches to the lap belt and everything is adjustable. These were $130 each.
The point of this was to get 6 over the shoulder harnesses for the people in the back 2 rows, and have new front seatbelts to match. Now I know most of you aren't going to take 6 little kids in your Wag like Alex is, but I thought if some people were interested, it could be something I offer on a regular basis. I can also get exact copies of the regular lap belts for the rear if someone just wanted stock style replacements.
Your thoughts???

Stock replacements would be good, as the plastic sleeve and the buckle covers tend to get brittle after 20 years.

I've been looking for rear sholder belts for the wag I'll be putting together for family trips pulling the camper, thought I'd have to settle for outboard shoulder belts only.

I'd like to see pics.

I'd be interested in a full set as well. Plan to use the Wag for family trips for a long time to come. Where can I get the 3rd row seat you speak of? That would be great!

No sir....I'm thinking long term, like when we have that 5th kiddo and need the extra space.

Realistically, I plan to keep this GW a loooong time. Short term I'll leave the back end set up as is, but the mrs. is already talking about needing something with a 3rd row seat in it. If I can do that with ole smokey it's all the better.

I will have some pictures soon. I just got the rear seat installed and am working on the layout and mounting points for the new belts, which should be here soon. I will post pics when I have them. Thanks for the interest.

I'd be interested in shoulder belts for the front seat for now. Back seat can wait a bit. Classic tan color would be ideal.

Pics, first.

If they retract, they would be a nice option for those who are unable to use a set of used front belts in the rear seat like I did.

I have no use for center shoulder belts. Heck, I rarely have TWO people in my Jeep, much less SIX.

They retract, just like stock front seat belts. The center Y belts don't retract, but the shoulder and lap belts do.

Here you go folks, finally got some pics. Will have some installed pics very soon.

Front Seat Shoulder Belts, with Fixed Buckle end (has plastic surround) in Tan. 2nd row shoulder belt is the same except with a floppy buckle end.

Third Row shoulder belt (with door post extension) in Tan:

Hey Zack,

Will that company rebelt (refurb) existing seat belts, i.e. taking old seat belts and replacing the seat belt webbing with new stronger and more wear resistant material? Only ones I ever seen that will refurb seat belts is SnakeOil Products and they're very cost prohibitive.

Due to liability issues, no. They use all new parts. They do make a blue that is very close to the OEM Jeep color you have.

I wonder if Frank could whip up some factoryish looking Jeep decals to go on 'em.

I'd love to buy a set once I finally get to that point.

The starburst pattern on the buckle actually is the later Grand Wag pattern from the factory. The Mid '80s square button with the AMC logo is different...

Those look REALLY nice! Maroon available? Also, will they impact the use of the rear cargo cover at all? The way I have mine set up, I have a second "resting" area for my rear cargo cover since the retractors are on the top of the rear wheel well.

Yeah, but I have this style. And though it wouldn't be correct, it'd be cool if I could at least make 'em look semi right.

Yes, Maroon is available. Here are the colors:
BLACK
RED
MAROON
TAN
Dark Blue
Gray
Silver

There are other webbing colors available, but they would have black accessories (meaning not color matched buckles and plastic covers).
