plugged a port, am I o.k.?

I have a leak coming from the air pump(?). Its located on the drivers side fender. The hose in question is the top one on the right side of the pump and goes into the black tuna can looking thing bolted right next to it on the fender. SO, I capped the port on the air pump and plugged the rubber hose. The hose is brand new but the connection on the air pump is cracked I think. Am I gonna blow my motor if I leave it like I have it and dont replace the air pump?

I believe the tuna can is for your cruise control so if you block that tube off, no worky. Using or not using the air pump will have no effect on the operation of your vehicle. However, if you are in an emission nazi state, you'll need to have it hooked up and working the next time you're up for inspection.
