Smile Hopeful Find

While at work today a buddy showed me pics of what appears to be a '79 Cherokee. After work I drove to check it out, body is pretty straight although it does need new front fenders, is missing front bumper, and has a broken crank for the back glass from what I could tell. No idea of mechanical condition or interior. Sad to report I have no pics of my own to post yet. Anybody have a good guess as to what a reasonable price on this would be?

It's hard to say without a picture, but you must realize that good front fenders are hard to come by, as well as a decent front bumper.
Expect to pay somewhere around $150/each for fenders, which by the way will still require work. The bumper $$$ is anybody's guess.
Knowing this ahead of time will give you some guidance as to worth.
Examine the floors carefully, also the rear cross-member.
The final thing--does it run?

Well as it happens I actually have a set of fenders laying around as well as a decent 1 piece bumper as well as a 3 piece bumper. And have another tailgate if it comes down to it. I am going to try and get pics and more info today. Iv'e been wanting a 2 door for quite some time now.

Mine was a grand. Ran (sort of) when I got it back in October, just need a carb, an exhaust donut, air injuction tube and some fluids to see if it will pass emissions or if I have to register it up north.

$300 if not running, $400 if cranking and the fluids are readable on the dipstick and not black, $500 if it moves on it own power, $600 if it does not stall at the first stop, $700 if it gets to freeway speed, $800 if it does not overheat, $1000 if A/C is cold.

Remove $200 if no title

Add $100 for ea of
-for ea clean seats without tears
-working tailgate
-working windows
-ea rust free inside and outside quarter panel, and ea door with decent wipe, this is a steep charge, but worth the price considering the headache.
-ea working and uncracked vent windows seals

So this is about a $2500 for a wagoneer, mine is $1500

for a the trucks, $200 for a decent bed, $400 for an excellent one

Feel free to make comments, I am on the cheap side..... Yes I had some time to goof off.

I started the post as a general guidance, then as I finished the 1st paragraph, put a little more time and thoughts about it when I realized that the prices are fairly close to the market values. The figures are skewed, to fix an A/C it may cost not $100, but $1000.
