Just a note to introduce myself to the list. Just picked up a 76 Cherokee 401, Automatic, Quadratrac the other day and figured I'd check out the list as i will be needing odds and ends, ideas, etc...

Jeeps are just holes in the driveway to throw money into. 76 was a good year, 401, front discs, flanged rear, Nice Score! Photobucket is our friend. Somewhere here is a thread on posting pics. Welcome!

Welcome aboard...

Glad to have you here. If you are like me you will learn alot. Get jealous of some of the awesome rigs here. It motivates me to spend more than I should. I bought my 2nd just after 3 weeks of owning my first Fullsize.

I hope you enjoy as much of this web forum as I do....

Pics to come. This is actually my 2nd FSJ. Last one was a 81 Wagoneer, things didn't work out well with that one though. So far the 76 is exceeding my hopes. The 401 runs like a top and the TH400 works too! Almost nothing missing, even under the hood! Of course the usual Jeep fluid leaks are present but not as bad as some. When I bought (stole) the Cherokee it had been sitting for more then a year without being started. Had it towed home, poured about a gallon of gas down the carb in total, adjusted the timing a bit and she fired up. Changed the oil out today and ran till at operating temp and holds 40lbs. oil pressure. Heck, even the carb (Autolite 4bbl) runs smooth. Gonna put the plates on tomorrow for the maiden voyage and do complete tuneup next week. Some surface rust on roof (not bad), but rear fender extensions are totally rotted out at the back bottom. Interior is all there front seat covers torn. Windshield cracked.
