I haven't really heard of any FSJ specific groups, but then again I didn't go looking. I doubt I'd have time to meet up anyway.

I'm up here near Hungry Valley OHV park so if you are coming up this way let me know! lots of good wheelin' here, even better on the fire roads out of the park.
There is also Ballinger Canyon OHV about an hour into the boonies from the 5 fwy at Gorman.

Do we want to be formal, have a site?

Or just exchange email addresses ahaha...

I can write pages... and whatnot...

Everyone says my truck is 1 in 200 I wonder how big an FSJ group would get..

You can count me in, and as soon as I can get the Cherokee for my son I'm sure you can count him in as well.

So.Cal FSJ clubs

A possible start could include a meet at one of the Cal Association of 4WD
clubs sponsored events. Perhaps TDS ? It would be an ideal location to
scout for other interested FSJ'ers. I'm sure there are others out there.
Or maybe something less of a time commitment to start? Meet for lunch somewhere?

Kris (user name) check members list, has done and been to most places you can go wheelin in So Cal.
He does a lot of Death Valley area stuff and knows all the good places, you should get in contact with him. He lives in Woodland Hills.
I met him at the Gorman get together in 2002, he is a great guy.

Thanks Marvin,
I sent Kris an e-mail.
I would like to thank all interested members for their response.
Lets spread the word and see what comes of this effort.
I would love to have a west coast event like Ouray to help tie
us together even more!( I think we are a bit more altitude challenged though!)
Great group of people you all are!

My son in law lives in Oak Hills by Victorville, they go up to the death valley area. You go from sea level to 7500 feet, and go by Charlie Manson's hide out. He says it is really a fun run. He has a CJ5 sorta like a rock crawler but not that radical.

Chris.
Just got your email.

We have a California YahooGroup. Its "CA_FSJA".

Heres the subscribe address...
CA_FSJA-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

NorCal is pretty active, SoCal has its ups and downs, mainly due to distance. There is mabye a run or two per year that someone does, and the last meet and greet was at least two years ago in the OC. I dont do many day runs now, mostly 3-5 day with the kids.

kris.

Thanks Kris,
What would it take to have another meet and greet?
TWO YEARS! I think we're due for another.

Hey everyone, I went ahead and set up a Southern California forum that we can chit-chat on, check it out and maybe we can have our own little spot.

Wow!
Thats what I'm talkin about!
You sure act fast.
I'm on with you Rob!
Let's see where this goes.
There has to be some way to bring the So Cal FSJ crowd together!
Life is crazy busy for all of us. but our interest(illness)
should help to bring us together for some wholesome fun.

Anyone interested in a meet and greet introduce yourself
on the new site Plasticboob (Rob) established.
The web address is located in his post to this thread.
This first step will at least help us better locate and identify
those of us interested in forming a local club or just getting together
for other organized trail runs.
Thanks again for all your support!

I'm game if you guys are going to allow a Jeepster as an FSJ, cuz my Streched 79 is in storage right now and my 75 may have found a good home.

Sure, we'll just say your Jeepster is a temporary substitute. Most of our rigs are probably down anyway, and when we meet it will just be a bunch of cars. I can see it now: everyone running around with their wallets open and FSJ "baby" pictures hanging out.
