According to California.....
Firstly, hello long time since my last post.
After a year I am finally getting my wagon back on the road. As usual I have to deal with the mind trust that is the California DMV and BAR. According to BAR and the DMV (Bureau Automotive Repair) my 1987 American Motors Jeep Grand Wagoneer has a computer that runs the emissions system. Does anyone here know what the heck they are referring to?
Thanks

Only on the rigs equipped with the 258 I6.

My 89 doesn't either.
Believe me, the smog tech will know what does, and doesn't belong under that hood though!!

Was '87 a year when Jeep made a Wagoneer (XJ) and the Grand Wagoneer?

They are confused....it's a Grand Wagoneer (SJ) not a Wagoneer (XJ).
Any smog station will have the correct info in the system if you have to smog it.
No need to involve the DMV or BAR unless it fails smog.

Yup, that is indeed your cruise control. And I think I asked the exact same question when I first got my rig. What is that little round speaker grille looking thing I see at the far lower right side of the dash?

Yup, 7747 ECM and the Dangly thing is a set of tweeters, One of the kids kicked that one and broke the plastic tabs that hold it up. I have to glue it soon. They make a difference when flying down the HWY...

Looks identical to the controller for the electronic carter carburetor on the I6 motors, could that be what Louiseven is talking about?
