No Recon for this rig...

...I guess last weekend was harder than it felt.

All the welds on the right front are cracked.
Not the first one to tear a hanger for sure, just not a good time for it.
Going to take me a bit to install the new ones, not much free time here.

I'll still go.
Rent something and beat on it for a day or two.

At the very least, I hope you had fun Tad! Now you have the perfect excuse to go to longer springs.

Break out the welder and fix it? Wouldn't it only take a few hours to fix something like that? Or maybe I am missing something?

It is a bit more intensive on an older rig.
The '73 and older wag's have the front left hanger welded into the steering box mount, my mount and hanger area have also been repaired by several PO's with less than stellar skills.
To fix this and do it correctly will probably take about 3 days this December.

I'll need to fab 4 new front hangers (the older springs are a bit narrower) for the newer/longer springs going in.
I'll need to carefully seperate the existing left front hanger from the steering box area, then remove the other 3 hangers.
Replacement will be based on the position from my '82 Chero frame, preliminary measurments with the newer springs look like it will move the axle forward, possibly as much as 1.5".
That's sort of the gray area, combined with the front D60 install this needs to wait until I can dedicate some real time to it.

Reguardless of what it looks like...it's still a daily driver and backup around town rig.

(nice pic from Michael)
