WOO-HOO!!!!

So, I drove the Jeep from Corpus Christi to Houston and back this weekend. The drive is about 4 hours each way. I wanted to make sure that the Jeep could handle a long drive and she ran like a champ. Water temp held steady, the oild held strong, in fact, the only gauge that moved as the gas gauge. Mind you , it moved a little faster than I wanted it too, but it was better than I had expected. I feel confident driving out to San Diego in the Jeep. We are going to make the trip in about four five hour diving days, so the run to Houston was a pretty good test. I am just not sure about the desert heat and the mountains in San Diego area.

Chief you pullin a trailer? I worked the heck out of my cherk back in 93 when I got transferred to San Dog...pulled a 23 foot u-haul through those mountains and thought I'd killed the old girl.

It's a fun drive though, as long as you're not short on leave! I had to make it in 3 days from Illinois to San Diego...didn't have a ton of time for putzing around...

Take a spare of whatever you can...starter, alternator, ECM, belts and hoses usually made up my kit, along with various fluids.

Have fun!
