Brake parts
I'm going to have to do a rear end brake job in the next couple of weeks and all my automobile owning life I've been a Raybestos man. Now when I say brake job, I mean new drums, shoes, cylinders everything is getting changed out. I have heard people who are all about Wagner and others who live and die by Napa. I am open to new ideas and also looking to save a little coin. So with that in mind, considering quality, cost, durability, function and warranty, what do most of you guys go with?

Just make sure the Raybestos you use are made in Canada or the good old USA. Some are being imported from China .

Raybestos all the way. I install their brake components all day at work and use them on everyone of my vehicles. Their a good quality brake part.

I diggit. Even the NAPA stuff can be, err, ummm, imported... I am going through similar but on the real cheap and fortunately these brake parts only have a little surface rust on them. Goin Raybestos on the shoes and McParts wheel cylinders.

I just lost a hub seal in my 89 350 ford dually. I purchased some new Wagner premium Shoes and the side of the box 9"X 21" MADE IN CHINA.
They were half as thick as the ones I had to replace. and the metal backers were also thinner. I had to adjust the @#% out of the star wheels.

I got new Wagner rotors for my front axle ('78 f250) from my local independent parts guys and they were no different thickness than the Autozone Duralasts. They're both made in china too. I'm hoping the Wagners are at least made of a higher quality metal.
For rear brakes I would just get Azone/Advanced shoes/cylinders and maybe a raybestos drum if needed. I've been pretty satisfied with their brake parts.

I been buy Raybestos at Farm&Fleet for a long time and the by far the best for the money I use auto-zone and Napa pads the Napa's dont stop that well and the auto-zone stop well but last 2 weeks so Ray's are the best way to go

Just out of curiosity how much more would it be to put in the rear disc kit? It seems by the time you put all of the new stuff in you would probably be up to $300 or more.
Just trying to think a little differently.
