thats a 1 piece bumper brushguard 79-91. you can tell because the tabs on the side bolt to the bumper which bolts directly to the frame horns. on the early style the tabs for the bumper are behind the guard. also the earlier guards where more rounded to look right with the razor/boobie grill.

Ok thanks. So what do you think about this one:
This is a '77 Cherokee that I'm gonna pick up. I have never seen a early style guard that had corners that were this rounded. Has anyone else? Grantshire suggested that this one is an aftermarket version. It looks identical in every other way though...kind of puzzleing.
The one in the first picture that Skeletor identified as a late model version still has corners that look to be more rounded than the typical later style brush guard. It seems that the later ones typically look like this one:

Maybe the standard wasn't too rigid as far as manufacturing these things...which wouldn't be too surprising Knowing AMC in those days.

i've seen one rounded like that on a late sixties wagoneer, but i dont know if it was stock. it might be an earlier style, or aftermarket. but now you got me wondering about the first pic. it might be a leftover from the 3 piece bumper guard and they just changed the mount, because the mount does look stock from the pic, even though who ever had it did some modifications to it.

Razor Grills era's had the rounded headlight areas, 79-91 were more squarish...

Mine
Here is mine on my 91 GW
It was off a 89 GW and I was told it was factory. Over all seems real stout and mounts fairly easy.

My vote is that's a pre-79. I think the difference is the radius of the corners.
