97 more cubes with the above EFI. That should eat up the 4k quick enough. Either that or a buncha bolt on trail bling..front and rear bumpers, a lift, locker and some other goodies if you don't mind your little 304.

Actually I do mind my little 304. Part of my parts list includes gettin' my hands on a 401. I figure I'll keep what I got while I do everything else and then build the motor and save the best for last. The truck has run good the two years I've had it but good isn't great. The major components, engine, tranny, t-case,axles, are in good working condition but could use some tweeking. No major overhauls in those areas except for the motor but only due to wanting more power. For now my main objectives will be the brakes, body, a/c, interior, some electrical and suspension.

Brakes- Rotors have waves in them like the ocean and they are wore to thin to turn down so they will be replaced and while I'm at it I'm springing for new callipers. Hoses I might keep 'cause their still in ok shape. While I'm doing that, I'm changing the wheel bearings. Drums I havn't removed yet so they might stay but the wheel cylinders are getting replaced because I know for a fact one of them is leaking and I'm not a fan of rebuilding brake parts. New shoes and new brake hardware.

A/C- It gets hot and HUMID here in south Louisiana so that will be a must. Need a new condenser, expansion valve, and possibly hoses. The system was open when I bought it so I'm going to take them to a shop and have them inspected. Adding a low and high pressure switch, already have a new compressor and dryer in the box.

Body- Have some rust spots to cut out and weld some metal in their place so I'm finally gettin a welder New paint but not settled on what color scheme yet. Thinking red and black with black wagon wheels. Rhino line the bed if the budget allows. New bumper on the front and maybe the back but only if I can't straighten it out. Swap to a rhino grill and round lights. Change out all the old wore out bushings. New window seals due to the fact I don't have any as of two weeks ago. New window lifters and lock cylinders and springs. New door hinge for driver side door. Thinking about putting some 1" foam rubber pipe insulation inside the door skin and on the back wall of the cab for sound attenuation.

Interior- Get a bench seat instead of the buckets. Part of our agreement was that I had to make it more "practical" New door panels and either a new dash or one of those wrap things Chrome posted up a few months ago. New gauges and maybe wiring harness.

Electrical- Have an engine bay wiring harness in the box just need to get a new ignition control module. Maybe new harness for the cab but don't know just yet.

Suspension- Don't know if I'm going to invest in some new springs or rebend the ones I've got. Possible SOA conversion but definatly some new shocks all the way around.

Thats pretty much what I have in mind as of right now. This truck is my DD and I'm looking at making this truck a part of my life for many years to come so I'm going to try for new as much as possible. I know it's going to be a long road ahead but I figure it'll be worth it in the end. For now though, I'll be visiting the parts houses pretty regular. And lastly, anyone know of a 401 I can get my hands on and also what the price range would be for a decent build?
