    Installed BJ's 4" lift with 31" tires

Just got my GW back from the shop, and thought I would share some pics. I also had a question. The ride seems real bouncy, is there anything I can do to help or will it settle in? Running Procomp es9000, no sway bars, and rear track bar relocation bracket.

Pics may not be working, if not will fix when I get to work tonight.

The springs will settle somewhat but those shocks are probably a bit stiff.

I did a 4" lift from a different company and didn't find it 'bouncy'. I don't think folks normally report that about the BJ's lift. There is a little bit of settling that takes time.

You don't torque the bolts until you have it all in and then bounce on it a bit. Did you do that? And don't over torque the bolts or the hangers won't be able to move.

        Most feel they are stiff....

For a few months and then with flexing, time and milage loosen up a bit. My 2" was very stiff as I thought that my original shocks would be all right, that only 2" lift would have good enough travel with stock shocks!.....Wrong,

When I put in a Rancho shock which was made for a 2" lift it lightened up everything. The old shocks were maxed out length wise and even a small bump would hit end travel and result in limiting the spring action and snapping your neck. When the correct length shock went on it made the whole system work right.

So I hope you put on a shock for a 4 inch lift.

I can't tell you if that is normal or not, infact I just ordered the same lift, but I did want to say thanks for the pictures. I was set on keeping the stock ride height and hesitant about an additional 4in. after seeing your comparison to the Toyota it really doesn't seem that bad.

The Toyota has a 6" lift on it. I took the pictures with it so I could see a visual difference.

I had ES9000's on my Cherokee and they were WAY too stiff. I went down to the ES3000's and it's MUCH better now...

For the install, did you follow our installation instructions? That makes ALL the difference in the world when installing.

I had the local 4x4 shop do the install. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

                      loosen all 4 shackle bolts.
bounce the wee out of it.
drive it over a curb 1 wheel @ a time.
                      retorque all 4 shackle bolts.

My guess would be they cranked down the shackles when it was on a lift w/o vehicle weight on them.

Should I take the weight off the suspension before loosening? Any othing to be careful of when doing this? I can turn a wrench, just don't want to mess anything up.

No, you want the weight on the shackles.

I took your measurements from the rear fender to get an idea. I hope you get this worked out. I was planning to install it myself.
