Seriously? WTF!? Some people you gotta wonder about.

So was informed the other day my LR taillights weren't working properly on Caprice wagon.
Today I tore into it and found out why.
That harness also has the fuel pump wiring in it, I had already bypassed that running a new feed & relay direct from battery because of a voltage issue...gee wonder why had an issue!

Good grief! Nice workmanship by someone.
Appears to be accident damage related.
No grommet any longer just half a tube of RTV slathered around the damaged hole it passed through.

Luckily I have a spare from the '96 POS RMW I bought for parts.

Couldn't leave the hole all distorted/bent up so beat it flat again. Had to yank the rear bumper to get @ it. The metal bumper underneath was in bad shape so cleaned it up and painted it.

I also still have the bumper cover from the RMW that's in better shape. So I'll paint that one and install it.

Typical. Wrap the wires around each other and wrap that with electrical tape. Crimp connectors or scotch locks if you're lucky. Or wire nuts. Gotta love wire nuts.

I was taught automotive electrical repair by an engineer who helped design the Apollo spacecraft command module at North American Aviation. All my stuff is crimped, soldered, and heat shrunk. You won't find electrical tape on my cars.

I love how arguements end as soon as Ristow comments. Ristow is right...again.

Sheesh that looks almost as bad as my early days.

I remember thinking I was hot stuff after doing my TBI conversion...was driving home from school when all of a sudden I lost power. What I found out when I got home was that one of the soldering jobs I did on one of the injector pigtails had stress-cracked from being bent and failed.

Because of the way I had the system firing, I was running on what had to be (and sounded like) 4 cylinders.

I was able to drive home on one injector at 10mph luckily lol. Took forever even though I lived just down the street.

Worst thing is this was very likely done by a shop.
PO didn?t appear to be a DIY?er as many receipts from a shop for work done.
Some other things I?ve found suggest the shop was very lacking!

Maybe it was a Renix shop?
Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental.
