HEI and spark plug gap

Hi I just installed an HEI with built in coil and am wondering what gap should the plugs be. I have mine gapped at 35 is it recommended to gap them to 40-45?
75 stock 360 engine, 2 bb.
Thanks

You can leave them at 35 or gap them to 45. You are very unlikely to notice the difference. GM ran their plugs at 35 with HEI and it was their design.

Cant say that I've ever seen GM's calling for the plugs to be gapped @ .035 w/HEI? Norm is .045 but for a few short years GM DID have them gapped @ .060! But for a stock HEI, .045 will work just fine.
Some of the aftermarket versions of the HEI call for gaps up to .055.

Yep, you're right my memory was not too good on the plug gaps from my carb'd Chevy days 14-15 years ago. I do remember at least one of my El Caminos having .035-.045 as an acceptable gap range.

Chevy generally used .045 except on some 454's. Olds and Pontiac had quite a few that were .060 and some Olds were .080
