Can't open tailgate

I can't open my tailgate all of a sudden. My window rolls down and I can pull my tailgate latch and I can hear/detect the thing working on the corners.

What's my next step?

I've got the same problem, except my window won't lower. I thought it was a safety switch thing. The latches are probably just gunked up.

What's next?

Cargo area diving followed by tailgate access panel peeking.

X2. On mine the passenger side latch thingy spring was gunked and hardened up from not being used for however long. With the window down and a flashlight and trying different poking & pulling apparatus I was able to get it to spring lose and open up.

But afterwards you need to get in there and hose it all down with WD 40.

You might try spraying some lube between the tailgate and body where the latch is and see if that frees it up. Worth a shot.
