Water Pump Woes + Alternator Bracket

Late last night I had the misfortune to have
my waterpump shell -- a great big vibration -- which went away -- and about 5mins later a vast amount of steam...

With a little help and several gallons of water, I limped home.

This AM I tore things down, and not only is the pump foobar -- the alternator bracket is cracked all to hell -- and has an old weld that seems to say this has been going on for quite a while.

I can't find a pump here is Austin, and seriously doubt that the alternator bracket will be easy either.

Any suggestions on the bracket ? I think I can get the pump from NapaOnline.

Here are some pics of the pump and bracket -- I am back outside to try and flush the bearing bits out of the block...

Thanks, Mark

This is the standard AMC alt bracket. Hit the junkyards - should be able to find one. If none in your area, call Kennedy American at 614-879-7283. If he doesn't have one, he'll refer you to another vendor.

Not really standard, unless its off pre 76. I have one if you are still in need of one.

is that the same bracket that the main bolt goes into for the alternator? I need that bracket too...

Well,

Kennedy American did not have this is stock
right now -- I may want the one you have. I have yet to try American Depot.

I may have to get creative here, which will probably get expensive...

Thanks,
