I think I had to wait a month or so when I ordered my lift kit back in 2007. My guess is they don't actually have a stack of lift kits ready to ship out. When an order comes in they probably call up whatever company makes the springs and it takes a few weeks to get those then they put the kit together and ship it out.

I've had nothing but good experiences with BJ's. Shipping times were good too, and I live about as far away from Washington state as you can get in the USA.

I've ordered several parts from them over the years (including an all-springs lift kit), never had a single problem. I always get my parts within a week and have never needed to contact them for the status of anything. I've also had good experiences with their customer service, but recently had to wait a while for a response email. Your concern is understandable, but they've got a good rep around here.

Forget the layaway thing, though. Just stuff cash under your mattress every week and lay away on it until you have enough to order

I have had GREAT expirences with BJ's and HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM...I'm sure they would like to stock every part in quantities...but thats just not posible.

I've used their "Layaway" on large orders..and it worked great. As for your lift...don't be suckerd by price. I tried others before buying from BJ's...theirs was by far the best. I'll only use BJ's lifts on my Jeeps...

Been seeing a lot of these types of "What's up with BJs" threads lately.

Unfortunately we're seeing vendor delays on many items lately, which is off course throwing off our inventory / shipping times on some parts. Some companies we buy from have gone out of business, others are seeing raw material delays, etc. Sucks, but unfortunately it is the situation. With the economy in the dumpster, it doesn't seem to be getting much better.

Michal, per our conversations Brent is taking care of refunding your money for items that are still out of stock.

As I stated in the other thread,BJ's will ALWAYS be my first choice for parts for my truck.Ryan and Brent both have always been courtious enough to answer even the dumbest questions I have asked them(and there have been some REAL dumb ones!!!)I have a lay away with them now,as a matter of fact!I worked auto parts for 15 years, and I know how hard it is to do the customer satisfaction thing in a big chain store, and in a smaller setting it is almost impossible to answer everyone in a timley manner! As long as BJ's is in business, they'll get my money!!!

Brent has always treated me A + Plus number one with every purchase I have made from them over several years....

BJ's is the best as far as I am concerned...

I try to plan and order way ahead as I know parts for these beast come from other vendors who may or may not have in stock when BJ's orders my stuff from them..

The only, and I mean -only- critical thing I could say of BJs is that, in the past, I've had to bug them for updates when there are vendor delays. Irritating, but once they let me know what's going on at least I know it's beyond their control.

My most recent purchase from them though, LED headlights, wound up being flown overnight air on UPS, because their vendor didn't want to ship via the method I'd selected. That wasn't on my dime either. BJs made sure to call ahead and let me know about the change of delivery, and carriers.

Sure enough, the very next day there were my headlights, the packaging looking only slightly the worse for wear; again something totally out of their control.

The important thing to think about is that most of the time when you're buying from them, it's because it's not an easy part to find, and the local parts store isn't going to have it. Might not even be able to order it. So yeah, there are delays and it's wise to call ahead and check on availability.

They do a phenomenal job. Anytime I need anything, I check with them first.

Id rather wait a few days and work with good guys running a small business (I know what that struggle is like) than send money to a faceless corporation exploiting chinese or hecho in mexico markets.

I really like the difference, and I thought the lights from before were acceptable.

My cameraphone takes terrible shots at night, they're really doing the new headlamps no justice; I'm trying to find a better camera to borrow. THe pictures I have taken already, however, are all right here.
