Vapor Separator

Looking for a vapor separator for my 1990 GW. I am aware that this is not "needed" but I want one. Looks like a fuel filter but it goes in-line with the vacuum line that goes from the charcoal canister to the carb. It's the piece circled on the bottom right of this photo...

And on the vacuum layout diagram you can see where it goes. It is labeled with the number 3 in this photo...

Looking for a take-off from another GW or if anyone knows of a new aftermarket replacement that works too. It's the last missing piece of my car's vacuum system!

Fuel seperator

I bought these. They seem to be new old stock.

Those are fuel filters. The fuel vapor separator connects to the carbon canister and the top of the fuel bowl on the carb.

Thank you! I really hope those end up working. Like rang-a-stang said they may be fuel filters but I am trying to figure it out for sure. They look exactly the same but what has me confused is the color and the fact that it says "Flow to Canister" on it. But then again the listing says they're fuel filters and when I search the part number limited info comes up except a thread on here that says it's a vapor separator. Then I have rang-a-stang saying they're fuel filters...I just don't know haha. Will have to continue searching for definitive info...

Mine has a side outlet, more like these:

Those look more like what's drawn on the diagram. This is why I am hoping to find a take-off from someone else's GW that I know for sure is the right thing because from what I have read they look very similar on the outside but are very different on the inside.

Here's my next question, is there a place that might list the OEM part number for the vapor separator? Maybe we can cross reference that with the eBay ones...

Nevermind I answered my own question and found the part number. Searched that and found this thread...

http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/showthread.php?t=181885

Looks like it's the blue ones!

No its not. It says right on it: Flow to Canister

That's a correct original AMC part.
The ink stamped number is exactly the same is the one I posted:

edit: Good job - I see you already found the follow up thread where I uncovered the original from my '85.

That's a good question. The one Rang-a-stang posted a link to I'm sure is also a liquid trap (aka vapor seprator).

Take the part number for the liquid trap, ad "Chrysler" to it, and do a websearch to see if it will show up in Chryslerparts, factorychrysler parts or a similar dealer website with an on-line parts list. If so, you can see all the years it was used and any superceded numbers.

Here's one: But the application listing is a little unclear.

https://www.factorychryslerparts.com.../33001586.html

Or, see if there's a parts catalog for 1990 available on-line and down-load that. Maybe at 'Ol jeep?

Or, see if a Jeep dealer will look up the number and check if its the same as used in 1990.

I apologize if i gave any bad information. They were what I orderd for my j10. I I recall them saying to canister on them also.

I’m curious what do you call the light blue items with the clip on it located middle left in the picture. I know it goes into the breather housing and vacum lines connect to it. The one on my breather has a broken nipple and would like to fnd a good one.

You mean in the very first picture in the thread?
Those are the air temperature switches for the EGR. They go in the aircleaner housing and the nipples stick out the back.

Yeah, the ones in the first picture. Thanks for the response. I’ll look for a good used one now that I know what they are.

Thanks but I did end up finding some NOS ones on eBay for cheap. I have an extra brand new one now too if anyone needs one!
