    Side marker lenses

If anyone is looking for those hard to find amber side marker lenses, there is aset up for auction on eBay right now! There is also a guy selling the Jeep emblems with the red/white/blue logo. Auction may be over now , but I have is e-mail address, I bought two from him and he says he has more.

You can still buy those new. Specialty Jeep parts carries 'em, but the auction price is a little better. He's been auctioning those things off for months (and they sell just about every time). I'm gonna jump before too long to add them to my '68. Seems you gotta pay $200 for original used fenders without the sidemarker, and $185 for brand spanking new steel tih the sidemarker hole. Sheez, I think I'll go to sidemarkers since the parts outta' the Wag are wired up for it.

    Later,

I'm looking at page 67 of the Spring 2000 JC Whitney catalog and they have the marker lenses for Jeeps for $3.95 each. They are the same as the ones on my 73 J4000.

I could not find these things anywhere! I went to my Jeep dealer (HA!) and they said "don't got 'em can't get'em, have a nice day,NEXT!" Then I find out from a friend that the exact same lens was on his CJ. So I went down to the same Jeep dealer and ordered one for a CJ and had it in a week! We FSJ owners just can't get any respect can we?

Nope, an it's a little worse when you own a Gladiator. People haven't a clue. They even twitch when I say J-Series Jeep Pickup. Most people know what a Wagoneer is. The other funny thing is that the parts are almost entirely interchangeable - and nobody knows it. I call I say, I want the this 'n' that for the Wagoneer, and they say whad'ya got? I say Gladiator. They say it won't work. I say ship it anyways, and three days later I bolt it right in.
I've argued with big chain counter clerks over the Buick 350, and the TH-400 - they keep insisting that Jeep never used these motors. Well they did in the FSJ's. What's an FSJ they say.
          No respect.
msmith9155, I do almost ALL my business with two companys. www.specialtyparts.com, and www.willysoverland.com. Between the two I find the part I need, and if I can't - I feel reasonably self assured that it's no longer available (although you still need to stay on your tiptoes because there's a lot of Joe's Garage type places that fab stuff for our beasts.
