chevy hd44 axle swap question (shock related)

hi all, so i installed the 77 k20 front axle into my fsj(as well as the rear) and now i have a problem, since i am 6" taller from the frame to the axle my shock purches dont match up has anyone done this and what have they run for new shock mounts? im just looking for different options, i would like to run the shocks i have as they are skyjacker softrides in good shape. also where is the best to place the shock purches on the axle? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Pictures would be helpfull

I moved mine up above by attaching them to a plate and using a GM replacement mount (the ones for the GM truck/van frame that always rust away).

Although it keeps everything clear, lines up well and allowed me to retain the shocks I was using with the 4.5" lift, I do need to extend the upper shock tower in order to use a longer shock for the increased travel I have now.

Is that just a small c-channel on welded to your tube? just to raise up the shock mount a little higher? are you using the stock fsj shock mount on the frame? mine tips at an angle. from what i gather its not to cruicial the angle of the shock is it?

It's actually part of my axle truss, sort of an I-Beam welded up top.

Yes, but older rigs were straight up and down.

I would hazzard to guess as long as they do not bind throughout the range of travel you will be good.
There were several generic tube mounts when I was doing this, I just sort of fabbed my own.
        Most looked like these...

Sky makes these (something like $4-5 each).

Thanks Tad, MOUNTAIN OFF ROAD ENTERPRISES has a ton of different shock mounts and stuff, i will either go with them or build my own custom dual shock hoop.
