    2 barrel on a 4 barrel Intake?

I have this new 401 long block that I really want to put a 2 barrel onto.

I came into a new amc 4 barrel edelbrock performer intake yesterday for free.

When I Stated to the fellow that gave it to me I wanted to run a 2bbl he say's... "So Put a Circle track Adapter on it and run a 2bbl"

I had no idea what he was talking about so I googled it when I got home and found this...

I think I'm going to try it? Anyone see any reason why I shouldn't?
If anything it will save the 1 million pounds of the stock Iron intake that I did not even have..

That would work perfect. Thats what I would use. Are you using a motorcraft carb, if you do you may have to use a different gasket between the carb and adapter. The stock one for the m/c carb works good. The holley gasket could leak at the back ive found.

I used a craptastic adapter for smog in CA worked fine running a 2bbl carb on 4bbl intake.

That one you linked looks MUCH better than the crappy one I have.

It looks perfectly, i would use the 500CFM 2barrel by Holley along with you nice 4bbl intake truck will have great throttle response and good power with out breaking the bank in fuel.

I did this to my 77' F350 dump truck, i didn't lose any power felt like i gain some torque over the stock 4bbl set up and i gained a noticeable amount of MPG's

I'd go with what he linked in 1st post vs. this one.
I have one like the Mr. Gasket one, the one he linked to is obviously MUCH higher quality.

I'd go with the second one... It's cheaper AND it works the same... toss on the gaskets torque it down and be done with it, in doing so you'll be saving cash.

Don't skimp on quality, go with the first one. I've come to the conclusion that alot of the Mr Gasket stuff is crap.

The Mister Gasket one looks like it is the reverse of what I would want right?
I wonder if it would be a pain to use in reverse?

The Mr. Gasket one is nothing like the one you posted.

If it's like what I have, they are craptastic @ best.
Cheap, poorly made, fit but could be better, come with worthelss hardware, etc.

I'd go with the style in your first post if I was to do it again.

I will be getting the circle track one.

I have a Mister gasket 1937 on a eagle wagon with a 2100 and although I didnt have any problems with it you could tell it wasn't a quality part.

It was only $17 couldn't complain but I did use it like it was made to be used.

Babywag, any time you want to get rid of that adapter, I'll trade you my stock 2-barrel intake for your 4-barrel intake.

Either should work depending on your budget. Would you rather have a stock cast iron 2 bbl intake? Can probably get a screamin deal on one around here. I'm not sure I would willingly put a 2bbl on a 4bbl intake, but that is just me.

I don't know, I had great luck replacing my 4bbl motorcrap carb with a nice 2bbl Holley in a 4bbl intake on my 77' F350 dump truck.

I don't see why it wouldn't work with a 401AMC engine, he ain't towing 18,000LB's either so he'll have more get up n go then i got.
