Wood Bed

So I decided to continue the exterior fake wood grain into the inside of the Wagoneer...here are some finished pics...
This was actually a pretty cheap project but it took a little time...I'm still have't got the chance to stain it yet

That is the same plan I have for the back of my GW once I get to the finishing stage. Now for the questions:

1. How thick is the wood? I am planning to use something thin like the manufactured flooring stuff, but it is hard to find anything that looks better than real wood!

2. Did you put a rubber mat under it, or use something to level the floor before install?

3. Did you run into anything along the way that made you think, "oh, I should have done that first" or "If I were starting over I would..." ?

4. I see you framed the section over the tailgate so you could take the whole thing off if needed. Did you build that on a backing board, or is it simply framed?

5. It does not look like you adjusted the rear seat. Is the slightly higher postion of the back pegs even noticeable if you are sitting in it?

6. How much weight do you think you added?

7. Have you found a wood/stain combo that matches well with the 3M vinyl?

I have the same concern with my mutts. Maybe a mat to go over the wood when they are along?

Give me a day or so and I'll write up some info on it. I only have one dog and he rides in the front seat very well, so he doesn't go back there.

The wood is cedar planks, for a wall, I believe they are 3/16? but I am not exactly sure. I looked at flooring stuff, but this method was a lot cheaper. It is actually fairly strong and holds together really well.

I used spacers to level the floor out. We were going to use plywood all the way across but the seat set up to high. But we used spacers in each groove.

I probably would have but the same frame around the whole outside of the bed area. If you go through this process plan out the two humps near the wheels wells first. I just elevated them because I am building a toolbox to go there.

It has a thin backing board and is made so that if I need to fix the window I can.

I haven?t sat in the seat but my cousin has both with and without the wood. He said it rode no differently. The seat latches and unlatches the same way and I haven?t noticed anything differently.

Maybe 50lbs, but I do not know for sure.

I haven?t really looked, but I am going to look this weekend, and I will let y?all know. I have been to busy sanding and taping off the wagon for some exterior paint.

I have a mat that I switch between my Durango and the Waggy. That will be used to cover it.
