    broken sector shaft

    broke my steering box sectorshaft headn to tabasco twister
    77 chero DEAD.

      charlie we made it back out of the canyon to the trailer! oreillys got me a box by 5 that day did the swap and had to weld up the frame and mount for steering box! thanks alot to michael.
      next morning i proceeded to drill and tap for hydro assist and pump burnt up!
      saturday it sat on the trailer while we went to broad canyon!

        LOL I was looking for an excuse to take the Dodge out on a road trip to help break in the new motor! Glad to hear you made it home.

            sector shaft swap went well.easyer than i thought. gotta jack it up tomorrow and bleed the system!

              So why did you swap the sector shaft? What was wrong with the one you got from carquest?

                i prefer the 4 bolt style vrs the 3 bolt design. and the drill and tap on original box has better openings.when drilling on the trailer i missed the bottom hole a bit.

                  jeep steers again heres how to:

                  now i need to re-weld some of the frame we missed.and install a tad brace!

                        flint it has a popup so work may block it.
                        i think because the frame broke causing the shaft to snap! with my educated guess and $.02, you'd still have $.02
