Been there done that.......... got an oil covered and somewhat confused dog to prove it.
Great to see some familiar faces and meet a few more. Zach needs some seedy purple and pink neon lights out front. Geez Louis what a stash of goodies, and what a Saaawwweeeeeet J truck sitting there now.

Bryan I'm not sure what your dog did to mine but she was in a fetal position, wimpering and wanting a cigarette all the way home. I think she learned a little lesson in size matters. Good thing yours is also a female.

          Thanks Zack
          Cya again soon

1980 J20 Utility bed truck. Factory cab and chassis truck. Many new mods for it but it will look all stock.
1985 J10 nothing special just a nice clean stock truck.
1977 Honcho "Blue" 401/400/quad. Under going major upgrades.."This is Not Your Fathers Honcho", it may not even be a Honcho anymore when done.
2017 Challenger. Very jealous of the Jeeps.

Dan helped me get the dead j 20 home.....Thanks again Dan! We winched it on my trailer,I towed it home & I unloaded it this morning. It looks like some kind of short in the engine harness,no power to coil, also it looks like the coil died too.If you turn the key on,leave it on for 10 seconds, the wires get hot & start to smoke! But now it started to snow hard,so I can't proceed.Anybody have a spare'87 engine harness?

              Ricbee,
I had a similar problem back over the summer with my 86 - J20. It died going down the highway, burning wire has a distinct smell. The ignition wires worked themselves down onto the hot manifold, shorted out and killed the fusible link. This was all done on the passenger side. The fusible links should be right next to the solenoid.
Sorry I couldn't make it to the M & G, had previous commitment.

Got'er running.I pulled the engine harness, peeled back the covering,NO melted wires, but the coil hot was kinda stuck to the other wires but not melted. So I pinned out the important wires, and re-wrapped&installed it.I did notice on the 3-prong plug to the dizzy, the plastic plug was falling apart, and the plugs were green with corrosion, causing high resistance, then an open circuit. So I cleaned the prongs, put some white lith on them, coated it with liquid tape, then wrapped it all in black tape.
