The stock 8" wide or maybe a 10" wide with a 12.50" wide tire should give you no problems if taken off road with the 6" lift.1977 J-20, 4bbl AMC 360/t-18,33"s.

Even with the wider wheels, you'll still have rubbing on the flares when fully flexed. Even with a 6" lift.
If you can find some 34" tires you should be fine.Jeep Grounds
