    LUV my heated seats!

It's 24.9 ° F (-3.94 Celsius) here in North Louisiana. It's 28 ° F in Chisasibi, Quebec, James Bay Region, North Quebec (where I want to hunt caribou someday....). Some neighborhood thug relieved me of my rear glass in my Cherokee, and I am very glad I splurged on those awesome heated seats from Bestop I purchased from Quadratec back in 2005. Makes riding in the Chero not a big deal till I learn how to get that rear glass back in place.

My son has a '99 beetle with the heated seats. I hoped into it to run to the store and about 1/4 mile from the house, I started thinking I was having "sympathy" hot flashes for the wife...

Bwa ha ha, too funny! Now a heated lumbar would feel great on a long drive.

Too funny. Did you think you were having a rare guy-menopause moment?

The neighborhood thug smashed the window. But I only *know* this because all the glass was in tiny little squares on the inside of the vehicle, nothing on the ground outside. I had just driven the vehicle the late evening prior, and awoke to the situation early Sunday morning a week ago.

Yes the Golf is heated too. Great since it take the diesel a bit to warm up. I saw some heat pads to retro fit in your seats in an LMC truck parts catalogue for the 90 chevy p/u just the other day. They looked pretty generic.

                  heated seats

my buddy at roadlessgear has the heated seat addon pads, you just put them onder your seat covers and they come with a nice dash switch.
i think they're running about 69 for a seat, it heats the seat and back nicely. i rode in his jeep the other day and had to turn it down to low.

Never had/used a real heated seat but have used a heat/massage cushion. Came in very nice on our back way Crown King run a few winters ago. Bad back and the snow and ice were no bother on the 13 hour trip.

Pictures of the seat are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/82711313@N00/87173347/

The thread where I first installed them here: http://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/showt...t=36570&page=2

The seat is no longer available from Quadratec, but if you want to buy the seats they're available here: http://www.4wheelerssupply.com/catal...ducts_id/72321 They may be available elsewhere too. Quadratec sells two different heating elements for seats that can be installed either under the seat covering material or on top of the seat under a seat cover. One of the units is from Corbeau. Once you have heated seats, you don't go back!

The thug smashed the window. I may have said this earlier, but all the glass was on the inside of the truck in tiny little squares, indicating a blow from the outside, with repeated attempts to knock the glass out of the window channel toward the inside of the vehicle.

In the past few years this neighborhood has turned into a mixed racial neighborhood with many "families" from the less advantaged part of town able to move in during that "housing bubble" we hear so much about on the news. The type of person from their former section of town typically does not like "white boy" type vehicles, and my Cherokee fits that bill. My household is one of the few caucasian families left on the street, so my Cherokee became a target in the early hours of Sunday morning on November 28. Now, I could be wrong about that, but the chances are extremely slim.

I was in the Army before, so time to do a bit of guard duty on the weekends. I can fend the thugs off myself. My immediate neighbors are good neighbors, and they are as alarmed about this as I am. They are on the alert for youths that are bragging about smashing a window.

About that rear glass: can someone suggest a thread in which someone discusses installing a new rear glass?

I just read a thread about someone here R&R-ing the rear window and lifter. He used some type of foam rubber wrapped around the end of the glass instead of RTV in the channel. I was amazed he did not smash the glass on install since safety glass is not good with impacts on the ends. I will try to find it.

I sold a bench seat out of my J-10. The guy that bought it had it recovered and had the heated pads installed at the same time.
