      1. Re-wired the dome lights with speaker wire

      2. Pulled all the body plugs out then laid thick (like 1/4 inch) rubber mat down and really crappy speaker box carpet over the top, guess he liked rust

      3. Drove it around w/o a fan

wired the headlight feed thru the dimmer rheostat so if your dimmers weren't on full bright you get to smell a burning rheostat.

I discovered this 45 min after I bought it driving over mt Hood, Oregon in a windy snow storm.

oh and every wire everything but make it the same color even the grounds to make things extra confusing.

wired the fuel gauge to the ignition coil power.

mounted the chev 350 engine too high!! Then did a ad hoc body lift with square stock steel to cope with the tranny not fitting. oops.

I still love the rig though

Every wire behind the dash in my PowerWagon is ORANGE! 10-12-14 and even 16ga., so he bought at least 4 rolls of wire, but every dang one is ORANGE! Of course I saved a little money, I just bought 4 rolls of orange wire to keep the theme going. Good luck hotwiring my trash thieves! HAHAHA!

'welded in new floors' which meant he took flat metal and tack welded it above the rotting pans without removing any of the old stuff.

He broke the timing cover resulting in leaking oil, converted it to a terrible electric fuel pump, and lost the title.

PM me if you have a GOOD timing cover for a 360

Dropped in a 455 and was RWD only. To make the 455 fit he did a 4" body lify ... which only cleared the brake booster by 3/8". You had to remove the motor mounts completely and lower the engine to do anything under the valves. The engine bay wiring harness was pig tailed together and wrapped in electrical tape. When he used connectors they were round ones and were bolted together.

every bolt in it was hand tight, ejection of the drive shaft was my first clue, didnt tighten the strap bolts. ejected a couple of belts before I realized the driveshaft bolts were not a singularity. It also had a couple of miles of loose wire that were cut loose and not connected.........

the PO of my grand wagoneer McGyver'd the crap out of the old carb(just replaced it), took out the guts for the horn behind the steering wheel, told me that the rear window just needed to have the wiring reconnected when after taking off the door panel I found out that all wiring inside the door is missing. That is all I have discovered so far.

The best one I have found in a while is the installation of the instrument cluster where the power lead to the ammeter gets pinched against metal in the dash and eventually shorts out, leaving the next owner (us) with a pile of pooh to straighten out.

Another good one recently: A friend had a 90 GW for sale and asked me to look it over. The PO before him took the choke parts including the butterfly out of the 2150. When I showed him the issue (totally not familiar with carbs) he said, no wonder it is a cold natured great googley moogley in the winter.
