No good deed goes unpunished

I have some lights at a sitting area near the kitchen stove. I decided they needed to be cleaned and got after it. Well, I'am sure you already know I dropped one of the glass fixtures. Not a big deal, just run down to Home Depot and buy three because you know they won't be able to match it. Nope, the glass fixture has a very small hole and no one makes them anymore. So instead of 3 five dollar glass globes, I had to buy three complete new fixtures. About $42 dollars a piece. The one on the right is the one I was trying to match.

I also looked on line and had no luck. Anyway, I was able to get the new fixtures up Saturday, the wife never once asked in the three weeks it took me to get it back together, when I would finish it. She is a good women! 25 years this march 26th! I'am very lucky she is willing to put up with all my B/S. These are the new ones.

That's what you get for cleaning right? Hey they needed updating anyway. Good wives make life better. A few of us are very fortunate in that arena. I like the post and beam kitchen! I can almost smell pizza.

My father in law built a sawmill and cut those beams from local pine trees. That big beam is a full 12x12 and over 20 feet long, oh yeah he also hug them and hand cut the all the joints. He can do just about anything.

Your kitchen is amazing. I will not be showing that to my wife. It will give her ideas.

I am with you guys! I love my hobby and and toys but I love that little short lady I call my bride more! I can always find a better rig, you can never get a better wife!

Dirty secret your home store generally won't have replacement glass unless it is something standard your best bet to replace would have been go to a lighting shop, but then you would have spent the same amount for the glass as the new fixture
