    embarrassing back seat question

How do you fold the back seat forward? I have the back down, but I haven't figured out how to fold the bottom forward. Looked for a lever, etc, but I guess I am blind.

You have mastered the seat release lever.
Quite simply grasp the bottom of the back and lift forward. The whole seat is hinged. The back and the bottom do not separate. This is based on old technology (the '60's), not like the modern SUV and vans.
Another feature, once the seat is tipped forward so far, you and a helper can remove the seat from the hinges, giving you a longer loading space.

Also, don't forget the "What the h*ll is this for" strap attached to the passenger side door pillar. It attaches to the seat to keep it in the folded position.

Seat belts might be hanging up. Took my seat out years ago and don't miss it at all. What a heavy beast! Sure like the extra room.

I have seats down most of the time in my 1977 Wagoneer. Strap is a nice option .

I have also found that its important that when you decide to unfold your seat, that you let it down gently. If you just let it fall, it will smash and break your hard to find plastic seatbelt buckles.
