Thanks! The cars in the pictures are actually AMX's - a 2 seater sports car. They made 19,000 of them in 3 years. They made a lot more Javelins. Here is a picture of the one that I build for my Daughter but of course I drive it more than she does. It is a drive anywhere car with a 304 and a AW4 transmission. Her Javelin actually has a AMX grille in it.

102. Fury5 360: It runs! Now I have to re-torque head bolts, change oil, and install his pretty pair of rocker arm covers.
Here are a couple of videos.

25 plus psi of oil pressure at 1000 rpm and 170 degrees of coolant temp. What oil is that? Baldwin B8 oil filter?

15w40 Rotella with Lucas Zinc additive. This one is a '91 with the metric oil filter and I didn't have one so I had to use a NAPA brand for start up. Now have a Baldwin to put on it for the first oil change.

And by the way... If you don't know any better, the early filter will thread right on to the metric thread and and will be snug until you crank the engine up to about 2500 rpm to break the cam in. Then, it the filter will blow off like a shot gun and spew about a gallon of oil all over your shop before you realize it and can shut the engine off. Ask me how I know..
The moral of the story is, don't trust a retired AMC Engineer or his "new" parts when rebuilding his engine..
I was actually building a engine for this fellow (Al Larry). For some reason I assumed that he would have the correct parts. LOL!

B9 is the full quart size for the V8 that fits the full size Jeeps and AMC cars 1966-1989
B39 is the shorter one that fits all V8 Jeeps and small AMC cars 1966-1989.
B141 fits the V8 with the metric thread 1990-1991
They all have the anti-drain back feature in them.

I found it again in the back of my shop a couple years ago. LOL!
She is rough as a cob and borderline restorable at this point. It had a merciless 156,000 miles on it when I parked it in 1980something.
I pulled her out of my shop with my Mighty Mite so that I could add on.

The AMX is a 1969 290 4 speed car with the "Light Group" being the only option. They made 619 AMX's with the 290, 4spd in 1969.
Side pipes were scrapped and the tires and wheels went on my Brother's '67 Rebel. He eventually sold the Rebel.
This one is actually more rare. It is a 1968 343 4spd AMX. They only made 415 of these.

Unfortunatly, it got hit in the front. It is on the list to fix as well..

105. xranger360: Another tired Wagoneer rebuild TH400. Ready for lifters, push rods, rocker arms, and intake.
98. VL390: 1970 Javelin street car. Waiting for Roller Rocker Arms.
That engine color never gets old for me.
