Dodge D60 spring perch reports please???

For those of you who have put a Dodge D60 under the front of your rig, have you noticed or had problems due to the 1/2" difference in spring perch width between the FSJ and the Dodge axle? I've read you can open up the centering hole buuuuut the passenger's side spring sits up against the axle housing so you can't move it inboard.

Anybody have observations from their rig or someone else's?

    I have one in mine.

I've put about 3,500 miles on mine over the last 5 months. Wheeled it pretty hard a few times and haven't had any problems. All I did was add a few extra welds around the front spring perches. I used a heavy duty ratchet strap to pull the springs together at the top to get the bolts through. The front shackles def sit at a bit of an angle but it drives fine and performs great off road.

Ultimately this is only a bandaid for now. Next month I plan to take the waggy off the road for a bit to do a shackle reverse up front and some other winter time maintance since we won't be going wheelin for a few months. I can post a pic if you want one of the front. Let me know.

You can see this Dodge D60 under my old '78 Cherokee, which I fit by doing what you describe; note that the longer shackles angle slightly. With all the other play and clearances, however, that difference is completely negligible.

Has anyone tried one of the newer D60s from a Dodge with diesel?

I have one from a 92 waiting for install. I'll let you know what it works. Anything 93 orolder should be close. 94 and newer used coils and would be a lot of fab work.
