Kickdown wire?

I was tinkering under my 78 chero and noticed a wire hanging right next to the transmission, it looks like it plugs right to the tranny. Is it for the kickdown? If it is for the kickdown would it have been disconnected intentionally due to a D300 transfer case being installed?

There should be two wires that run down there in the loom together together. On my '78 the yellow wire is for the kickdown and the orange wire for the QT. Since you have a 300, you can snip the orange wire. The yellow wire for the kickdown plugs right in about 3" behind the test port on the drivers side.
